Focus Seminar 5: Enganches and Cosidas

In this Focus Seminar we will explore technique and combinations of the playful elements called enganches and cosidas.  We will continue with some similar technical concepts developed in the Focus Seminar 4 (it is recommended but not necessary to have participated in that seminar).

Focus Points

  • Technique for the free leg for both leaders and followers
  • Axis and free leg, center and periphery: 2 factors to create strong balance and different qualities of movement
  • Simple and more complex combinations
  • Adaptations of the embrace

During these days you can enjoy the milongas of the OsterTango Festival in Basel.

Extra Private Classes: For Focus Seminar participants, Joachim is available for a limited number of private classes on March 29 and April 3.  Please write him separately via email ( with the day and possible times you are available.  


During the 2 days, the 8 hours of class are usually organized like this:
