Immersion Seminar 28: Dynamic Turns + Pivots

In this seminar we will investigate how to create dynamic giros and effortless pivots.  

Some concepts and ideas we will discover include:

  • Fundamental technique for both roles
  • Centrifugal force for dynamic turns
  • Adaptation of embrace and connection
  • Understanding different types of giros and turns
  • Typical adornos used in giros (lápices, enrosques, agujas, etc.)
  • Acceleration and multiple accelerations in continuous turns
  • Uses of pivots for combinations (back sacadas, etc.)


During the 4 days, the 16 hours of class are usually organized like this:

Day 1
16:30-18:30 Part 1 (2 hours)
18:30-20:30 Dinner Break (2 hours)
20:30-22:30 Part 2 (2 hours)

Day 2 & 3
14:00-16:00 Part 1 (2 hours)
16:00-17:00 Mid-Afternoon Break (1 hour)
17:00-19:00 Part 2 (2 hours)

Day 4
11:00-13:00 Part 1 (2 hours)
13:00-14:00 Lunch Break (1 hour)
14:00-16:00 Part 2 (2 hours)
